正确：The average adult American in the 1970s read more novels than did the average adult in the 1980s and 1990s.
为什么the average adult不能省略呢?在比较句结构中什么时候可以省略?
2.错误：Americans,consuming massive quantities for decades,are recently beginning to limit their intake of sugar.
答案说它没有交代清楚什么被consumed 了,为什么就不能理解为consumed 了sugar?
3.错误：Albert Einsein made a bold leap while he adopted as his fundamental premise a paradox that had been ignored by other physicists.
为什么关联词while用错了?

1、这句话不可以省略,因为不能拿一个人the average adult和年代the 1980s and the 1990s去比较.比较句中最重要的就是“同类事物相比”.这句话如果不想再说一遍the average adult,也可以说than that in the 1980s and the 1990s,that可以指人,这地方用he也不太顺.这个句子比较特殊,还不如再写一遍.相信你已经做了很多题是than those of,than that of,这样的意义就是同类比较.
2、这个句子严格来说确实不对.consuming large quantities应该紧接of sth.,这个“sth”应该在前面,后面用it 指代.不能把重要的影响理解的东西放到前面去,英语应当是：重要的东西提前.
3、while在表示当的意思的时候,后面应该是doing进行时.一般时的“正当”用when
4、“The business done this year amounts to 50,000 dollars as against 30,000 dollars last year." as against 不是instead of 的意思,它仅仅是“比较”的意思.
5、错句中whether a singer or a songwriter有问题.首先至少应该是as a singer or a songwriter,否则无法连接前面的句子.其次,用whether or 来表示eqaully 也不对.正确的句子中,she is的部分还是“同类比较”的问题.
6、provide its stability没有错,而且和carry its engines能对应.当然也可以说provide it with stability,但是就不对应了.GF is (as talented) a singer as she is a songwriter.发现了吗,前半部分是由主谓宾的,所以必须后面也有.
7、not so much.as.是固定搭配,是SAT语法和阅读极其基本的一个考点,考的到处都是,所以一定要记住,在写作中自己也可以用,挺地道的.比如说,Success lies not so much in luck as in hard work.
8、 这句话有两个问题.首先,前后时态不一致.不是说一定要一致,但是从句意来看没有事件发生的前后顺序,应该都用现在时或都用过去时.其次,for being这个部分不是错误,但是没什么必要.直接说as就行了.你一定听老师说过改善句子的题中不选句中含being的选项吧,其实不是错误,是没必要.
9、这个我还真不太清楚.我认为去掉to be可以.但是find的确有个用法,find + 宾语 + 宾补（可以是adj.,也可以是 to be adj,或者n等）.这个句意应该等同于不加to be的,所以我觉得可写可不写.
10、这个可以,或者说"as greatly as the .do"也行.就像I swim as fast as him.和I swim as fast as he does都行.但我怎么记得原句是.,as does the authentic and quaint decor啊?这个原句是没错的.有个typo,Ethiopian.
语法注意总结,还有做对的题不要轻易放过!培养语感,语法不难的.
