Each submerged cargo pump shall be arranged in the aft part of each tank.
The pump stack discharge valves shall have remote operation in the cargo
control room,and shall be also operated locally.
Separate lines from each cargo and slop pump to be led to crossovers for each
pair of cargo tank and each pair of slop tanks.Each crossover to be connected
to each manifold to have six (6) segregation as per owner’s requirement.Total
six (6) longitudinal cargo main lines,one (1) for each segregation and one (1)
slop main line as well as one (1) slop collection manifold to be arranged on
upper deck.
Each cargo tank to be fitted with separate direct loading drop line by-passing
the cargo pump and extending to 100 mm above tank bottom at forward end of
the tank at the opposite corner of the cargo pump.
The cargo pipes shall be supported on resilient Teflon packing on pipe stools
to reduce the transmission of noise and vibration.
Cargo main lines on deck to be arranged with omega loop type expansion
joints to compensate for thermal expansion in piping.
Pipe diameter to be suited to pump size ensuring good flow characteristics in
accordance with pump supplier’s recommendations.
All cargo lines shall be of stainless steel AISI 316L and fluid velocity in cargo
lines shall not to exceed 5 m/s.
The following pipe diameters are as general guidance,and will vary at certain
locations:
Pipes Diameter
Loading and discharge pipes to each tank 150 mm
Crossovers for cargo tanks 150 mm
Cargo main lines x 6 200 mm
Cargo Manifolds x 6 200 mm
Collecting manifolds x1 250 mm
Slop main line x1 125 mm
Slop collection manifold x1 125 mm
One Marpol line in stainless steel shall be arranged according to Marpol
regulation 18 for drainage of each cargo main line through a dedicated
hydraulic pump,located in butterworth heater room.This pump shall be
capable to discharge either to the manifolds,or to slop/sludge tank,or to
shore through shore connection.
Emergency connection between cargo line and inert gas line and ballast line
