2、All pneumatic valve manifolds or manifold banks are to be shown and called out
as having pressure and exhaust ports piped from both ends. Manifolds to have service for maximum flow.
3、Manifold banks are limited to a total of six valve stations. Manifold banks with two
or more valves shall have two mufflers at each end for a total of four. Any manifold flowing lubricated air shall have a filter / reclassifier, one pipe size larger than the largest exhaust port, piped to each end of the manifold for a total of two.
4、For Final Assembly, in small fixture stages where air usage is low, air headers may be used in place of surge tanks where header area is equal to or exceeds 10x maximum demand during operating cycle at line rate.
5、Adequately sized headers shall be used to provide air to all fixtures
within an individual transfer area with one plant drop for each service. This
shall also be shown in the Unit 1A Installation Drawings.
6、Air valves and manifold layouts shall be designed with all "14" (A) sides of the
valves on the same side of the manifold. “Work” action is Solenoid "14" (A), Home” is
Solenoid "12" (B) on dual solenoid valves. On single solenoid valves the first action
is Solenoid "12" (B). The following is an example to help with further clarification.
a)Locating pins that are extended for the load position and are considered to be in the home position. These pins shall be piped such that the detent side
of the valve holds the pins extended while the operator is in the light screen loading the part.
