A选项有跳跃指代的问题,that和which通常都修饰紧接着得前一个名词,而有时候会出现跳跃指代作为正确选项出现的情况.这里的that有可能是修饰sign的,也suppose是修饰sign的,但是也可以修饰households,所以说它是confusing的.而D选项用一个给力的平行结构避免了这个问题.
B选项中,一个句子中如果有定语从句的话,那么句子的重心通常都在定语从句上.B选项是在说,confidence可以让households怎么怎么样,而句子本来是应该在说这个sign说明households可以怎么怎么样,二者句意的重点明显不同,因此说它改变了原来的句意.
