我重新理解了下,这句话应该是被动结构,is offset by,是被抵消的意思,is more than offset by,是后者能更多地抵消前者的意思。所以我觉得这句话翻译成“多肽链熵的减少更多地被溶液熵的增加所抵消”或者“多肽链熵的减少不足以抵消溶液熵的增加”似乎更好。
