Tower Bridge spans the River Thames in London.It's named after its two towers.The 116-year-old bridge is 60 metres long and its towers are 49 metres tall.
The bridge has two levels.The upper level has two walkways for people to cross the river.The lower level is a drawbridge for traffic to cross,which can be lifted to let large ships pass through.River fraffic has priority over road traffic.When the bridge is opening for ships,there are two steel gates that stop cars from going across.The bridge is lifted about 900 times a year!
