本文首先以下定义的方式分清了汇率和物价的概念及各自包含的内容,并运用购买力平价理论引申出汇率与物价的关系,分为固定汇率和浮动汇率两种情况一一阐述.
在此基础上,本文进一步对我国人民币汇率变动对物价的影响进行实证分析,提出短期和长期两种不同情况下的汇率对物价影响的结果,指出从2007年上半年开始的物价上涨从根本上看是货币现象,即过多的流动性导致了投资和消费的过热.因此,压制物价上涨理想的解决办法是向市场明确传递“人民币汇率只会逐渐升值,而不会快速升值”的信号,建立透明、健全的汇率机制.
最后,本文结合中国的实际情况,对人民币汇率制度的改革方向、核心内容以及相关经济体制配套改革提出包括完善汇率的决定基础、改进人民币汇率调节机制、健全和完善外汇市场等的几点切实建议.
