1.如果选C,则逗号前后是两个并列的单句,但是它们之间却没有and等连词连接,这是错误的.
B中的finished并不是动词过去式做句子谓语,而是过去分词,它和前面的逻辑主语their lessons构成所谓的独立主格结构,做整句的状语.
2.关键是faced后面的介词with.
如果没有with的话,John和face之间就是主动关系,用现在分词facing做状语；
固定短语be faced with...,意思也是“面临/面对...”,此时John和face之间视为被动关系.
3.现在分词的完成式,不管是主动的having done还是被动的having been done,都是只能做句子状语,而不能做后置定语或补足语的.
此题polluted...做water的后置定语,且过去分词既可表示被动,也可表示完成.
4.楼主不懂addict的含义了：它是一个及物动词,意思是“使上瘾/沉溺”,结构是addict sb//oneself to (doing) sth,也就是说sb和addict之间是动宾即被动关系,而不是主动关系.
除非是说“A使B对C上瘾”,这时A和addict才是主动关系,不过B和addict还是动宾即被动关系.
7.这个respecting/respected不是类似interesting/interested的用法,而是直接考虑被修饰词historian和respect之间的关系,因为“historian是被人尊敬的”,即两者之间为被动关系,所以用过去分词respected做定语.
