parts on mybody, and finally to see that I am my body. This sorting through the parts, avery Western way of understanding, has offered a
particularkind of learning, resulting in a particular kind of self knowledge.
Thisknowledge can feel life-saving. And yet, at the same time, it
becomeslife-threatening if we dare to assume it is enough. Individuals
consistentlyreach for this deserved and blessed freedom, and the unraveling
of ourworld becomes more and more visible. It is not enough
when thedevelopment of the self excludes an integrated relationship to
the whole.
