1.In my opinion,life in the 21 century is much easier than it used to (be).括号内be需不需要加?为什么?

4.Almost every single’s former secretary of defense and national security advisors.single不就可以修饰名词吗,为什么要加’s
5.They are fighting the project on their own ground.on their own ground修饰什么?怎么看的?

1 需要加. 这不是动词不定式 的省略问题
2 我认为 是前者 介词短语 修饰 靠近的名词
如果 是后者 第二个 名词前 的定冠词 应去掉 谓语动词 可以 用单数
3 but前面的逗号去掉不去掉 都可以
not only...but (also)...是并列连词,意思是"不但.而且.".
如果 非要说 哪一个是连词 那就是 but
4 single这里是,名词"个人"的意思 加's 是名词所有格
5 根据句子意思 on their own ground是介词短语,修饰the project.做定语.
