能不能解释from where这种定语从句现象
如：they climbed to the top of the tower,from where they could see what was happening in the distance.

他们从能够看到正在发生的距离,登上了塔顶.这句话的结构相当于they climbed to the hill from the foot of the hill.(他们从山脚下登上了山顶）.只不过现在是from 后面跟的不是地点,而是地点从句.其实from 后不仅可以跟地点也可以跟时间,当然时间定语从句也可以.
