But Zhang might not know that last month,10 doctoral (博士的)students put forward different ideas to her.The students from Tsinghua,Peking and Renmiu Universities called on people to stop celebrating Christmas and other foreign holidays.People should stick to traditional festivals,they said.
"Western culture used to be like a breeze.But now it's a big storm,"the students said in a public letter.
They noticed that shops,restaurants and hotels have Christmas trees.Lovers buy roses and chocolate for Walentine's Day.Children make paper pumpkins on Halloween.But"there is much less excitement during Chinese festivals like the Mid-Autumn Festival and the Drange Boat Festival."
"This is a cultural invasion(侵略).We have to fight against it."said the students.
But some peole don't agree.They say it is good to know more about foreign cultures.
Others don't care which they celebrate as long as they do clebrate.Liu Yang,14,is from Shanghai.She sees any festival as a break from study"Both Christmas and Spring Festival make us feel more excited than usual,"she said.
Liu is supported(支持)by a recent survey.It shows that Spring Festival is still the favourite festival of 70 percent of Chinese people.One is four celebrate both Christmas and Spring Festival.
