Perhaps the most ironic aspect of the struggle for survival is how easily we can be harmed by what we had wanted. The fish is caught by the fisherman's lure, the mouse by cheese, and man by the world's most popular leisure pastime,TV
Most people admit having a love-hate relationship with it.They complain about the "boob tube"and "couch potatoes',and then they sit into their sofas and hold the remote control.
The time that is spent on watching TV is surprising.According to a research,American adults spend four hours a day in front of the TV set.Over a lifetime,it is more than nine years. At the same time,we love to complain that we don't have time for the things we really want to do.
Two reasons can be found to explain why we end up watching more TV than we should. We usually don't realize how many hours we are watching TV.Having the set on,we don't have the motivation to get up and do something else.Another reason is that our living-room furniture is usually arranged around the TV set.In this way,it is hard to control ourselves.
