From 1947 to 1993,the GATT presided over eight times of multilateral tariff and trade negotiations,the 8th rounds negotiation was held in Geneva,from the year 1986,to December 15,1993,which was called "Uruguay Round." And the fifth round was known as "Dillon Round",the sixth round was known as "Kennedy Round",the seventh round was referred to as "Tokyo Round." World Trade Organization (WTO) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF),World Bank (WB),are called the world's three pillars of economic development.
As the constant developing of economy and trade in international sociaty,the trade war in the fields of international economic and trade has become more frequent."In resolving international economic and trade disputes,WTO plays an important role since its establishment."
The dispute settlement department in WTO is the General Council.The department is responsible for handling on the final documents in Uruguay Round,including any agreement dispute and convention dispute.According to the World Trade Organisation commitments,in case of trade disputes,the parties should not take unilateral confrontation action,but seek relief and comply its rules and arbitraments made by the mechanism of dispute settlement.
3.I agree with the views of liberal academics,but I would also like to point out some inadequate.
The limitations of the United Nations:
a.Distribution of power and the democratic mechanisms:
United Nations was established on the intention of world peace maintenance,and implement the "Principle of democracy" as a "Big countries in line"."However,the veto could be abused." Such as the political conflict between the United States and the Soviet Union in the Cold War period,the usage of the veto by two sides was very obvious.
b.The lack of a strong safeguard on world peace and security
Case 1:the Korean War
At 3 a.m.New York time,on June 25th,1950,the Korean War broke out.
Therefor,the United Nations Security Council held an emergency meeting on that day.Manipulated by the United States,the Council passed three resolutions to save the decline of the South Korean forces,and also in the third item,it was a clear demand to all member states to provide all forms of assistance to the United Nations on the issue of North Korea,thus,to lay the foundation of forming a "United Nations Army".
