说说我的不解为什么第一空不能用has devoted to,而第二空为什么is supposed to 能表将来.等等其他原因

devote是及物动词,后面必须加宾语has devoted to不正确,有两个结构：
be devoted to 和devote oneself/sth.to,因此这里选择C
be supposed to do意思是应该,被期望做某事,这里who___ the research of wild animals all his life是非限制性定语从句,在分析时可以去掉,主句就是Professor Smith is supposedto give a speech in Beijing University next week.
