Chicago-lying in the east of the USA- is rather a young American city.It was almost completely(彻底地) rebuilt after the Great Fire of 1871.when you come to the city,you can’t help being attracted by tens of thousands of cars running to and from on the highway,high buildings and the wide green water of lake Michigan which lies to the northeast of the city.The area of the city is over 228 square miles with a population of about 3 million.The climate(气候) of Chicago on the whole is almost the same as that of Beijing.It has rather hot days in summer,colorful and fresh days in autumn and often clear days in winter.The spring in Chicago is a little changeable in temperature.For example,I saw a snowfall in early April this year,while some of the flowers were already in full bloom(开花).Chicago is also famous for its frequent winds.So it has got the name of “the wind city”.
