1.Early rock and roll music,like jazz and the blues,celebrated characteristics of urban life that （was once） only disparaged:loud,repetitive city sounds were reproduced as raucous melodies and insistent rhythms.答案说要改成were once,我知道这样的话九十修饰characteristics,可是为什么不能说后面这个be动词是修饰life的呢?如果（恩如果!）only disparaged什么的内容又在意思上可以修饰life那还能用that was once吗?还是用什么其他的写法然后让后面的内容是在修饰life的?（说得有点绕口...）

5.Cuban music was so popular in the colombian city of cali (thus becoming) the basis for the dance scene that predominated there furing the 1940s.所以那个括号里是错的,恩我也不知道为什么是错的,然后我在网上看到了几种更改,一种是",thus becoming",还有一种是“that became”,两种都是对的吗?如果是,那第一种的和原句语法上有什么区别?

1、我想了半天,觉得在你假设的那种情况下的确是有可能修饰 life 的,而且如果定语从句前的名词短语,其中心词和最后一个名词在数上没有区别,意义上也都能配得上定语从句,那么的确也没有什么简便的好办法避免歧义.
2、as was the case of A 是说“比如A就是这样的（一个例子）”,而 in this case, A 意思是刚才所说的道理在我们今天讨论的范围里的具体体现是A.在这道题里,如果这样说的话,那就是说“很多伟大的小说排成电影都变得平庸了,我指的是Endless Love“.除非你有上文支持Endless Love 就是作者要讨论的东西,否则就单独一句话来看,把它视为一个例子更合理.
3、我理解 people were asked for their preferrence 不好的地方在于 ask for 是向谁“要”东西的意思,放在这里说成“向人们要他们的倾向性选择”很别扭,把for改成about就合理了：“问人们关于他们更喜欢什么的问题”.
4、这个分词短语如果做定语,修饰rainstorms,是不可以加连词when的,加了就说明它不是做定语的,而是做状语,修饰整个句子,像我以前说过的那样,做状语时其逻辑主语就必须是句子主语crops.
5、我觉得两种改法都不对啊,前面的so明显是要构成so that结构,只加个逗号解决不了这个问题,而that became又不完整,应该改成that it became才是正确的.不知道有没有像我这样改的.
再问： 抱歉前段时间在旅游就一直没有回复...
那第一题为什么不能直接用was once？是因为意义冲突所以不能修饰life吗？
