B:Oh,I'm secretary to the sales manager of a food company.
A:Do you get good pay?
B:Pretty good,though I have to work hard for what I get.And there's quite a lot of overtime.
A:What qualifications have you got?
B:I got a degree in economics and then took a course in shorthand,typing and various forms of office training.There aren't many opportunities for women in management:secretarial work seems to be the only thing.
A:How about holidays?
B:Only two weeks a year.But I have to travel sometimes with my boss and I enjoy that.
A:Do you think I'd make a good secretary?
B:I'm sure you wouldn't.You wouldn't like taking dictation and answering phone calls,would you?You're far too forgetful and untidy.
