回答起来有点长,不过你看完应该就明白了,还是很容易区分的want和would like用法：1-在以下情况下可以互换
例如：
A-I'd like some water,please./I want some water,please.
would like比want更礼貌一些
B-I’d like to/I want to speak to Jone,please．我想和JONE通电话.
C-Jone is out．Would you like to speak to Mr JONE出去了.您跟Y先生说行吗?
那么WANT比would like更有自信.但是I want不用于表示不可实现的愿望.
比如：I would like to live on Mars.我但愿能住在火星.就不可以用I want to live on Mars.2-以下情况是不可以互换的
A-邀请时Would you like不用do you want
B-否定句时：don't want表示没有某种愿望；wouldn’t like表示不喜欢.因此,wouldn’t like不能用来回答邀请或提议,因为在这种回答中 wouldn’t like的口气将是不礼貌的.在这里常用 don’twant或其他形式来代替 wouldn’t like：
比如：
—Would you like some more coffee?—您再来点儿咖啡吗?
—No,I don’t want any more,thanks．/No,thanks．—不,不要了,
C-间接引语时
比如：你可以说I would like/want to see it.也可以说Jone said he would like/wanted to see it.也可以说Tom wanted to see it.但是间接引语中不可以用Tome would like to see it.join和join in的区别：1-join通常指加入大规模的某党派、某组织或某社会团体.也有连接的意思.
比如：
His brother joined the army three years ago.他哥哥三年前加入军队.
Tom joined the Party yesterday.Tom昨天入党了.
The railway joined the two cities.这条铁路连接着两个城市.2-join in通常指加入小规模的游戏,活动,比赛.也有与...一起做某事
