again,in "the black cat",tha author is afraid of the little cat which because that he is mental tortured by it.the misery little black cat has one thing in common with pluto ,who was killed by the author,both are one eye missing .readers may reasonablly guess that the black cat symbolizes the ghost of pluto who come back for revenge.people always link black cat with mistery and oddity .so ,the cat appeared standing onthe head of the author in the end of the story effectively make the whole story full of thrill.
