Whether to assist tripped-over seniors has became a controversial issue nowadays as a result of the well-known Li-Ming case.The core to the issue revolves around the potentially negative consequences of offering assistance.If helping seniors would lead to enormous financial loss,then it is probably reasonably foreseeable that everyone would simply ignore those seniors in need from now on.
Personally,I agree that the particular senior in the case was certainly at fault for obvious reasons.However,it is also belief that the Li-Ming case was one representing the minority,surely the majority of the aged population would have a sense of morality.What was extremely disappointing was the judge's ruling.Being a judge,one ought to be aware that the impact of the ruling on the society would be long-lasting.The unfair decision which placed guilty upon an obviously innocent man is not just a mistake; it violated the fundamentals of the society and the culture,the damage of which is inmeasurable.
