One factor in a hosted system's favor is turn-around time.CRM projects often need quick results to meet specific marketing goals.In cases where speed becomes the driving force,CIOs often can get a hosted application tethered to their companies' computers much more quickly than purchasing,installing,and troubleshooting an out-of-the-box CRM product.
"So the vice president of sales or marketing will often become key to the decision to use hosted or in-house CRM," said Boise."Usually,hosted is chosen when a very fast marketing solution is needed."
In addition,"renting" a CRM product is often more cost-effective than "buying" software outright,and the hosted CRM service can be terminated when the project is completed.
A third consideration is the bandwidth available to the in-house computers.If the network in a small business is not adequate,the benefits of customizing and integrating a hosted CRM product might not justify the expense.
