A Secret for Two' by Quentin Reynolds
'A secret of two' by Quentin Reynolds is a great and sad story portraying friendship and love. The story took place in Montreal, on Price Edward Street during a time when horses and wagons were used to carry and deliver milk. Pierre was a man who had worked on the street for thirty years. He had been delivering milk with his only and favorite horse, Joseph. Time passed; Pierre and Joseph were getting old. The president encouraged him to go to retirement but he refused. They continued to deliver milk. At age 75, Joseph the horse, died of old age. Pierre went into shock, and refused to work any more. The deep grief didn't allow him to hear the wagon’s signals. He was killed instantly. Upon examining the body, the doctor stated that the man had been blind for at least five years. Yet nobody knew about it. This was the secret kept by the two of them, just between Pierre and his horse.
