The present study employs a rapid serial visual presentation (RSVP) paradigm to assess emotion’s modulation of attention at different time intervals.Specifically,the study examines differences in attentional capture and subsequent attentional enhancement between fear,disgust,erotic and neutral images.In order to examine the two-fold effect which suggests that emotion impairs attention at shorter time intervals but improves it at longer time intervals [2],the intervals between distracter and target images were varied at 200 ms,400 ms,600 ms,and 800 ms lags.

本次研究利用快速系列视觉图像来评估不同时间间隔下情绪调整对注意力的影响.具体来说,此次研究检验了在恐惧、厌恶、色情和中性的图片刺激下,注意力捕获和之后注意力提升的差异.为了检验在较短间隔下情绪会阻碍注意力而在较长间隔下会促进注意力的这种情绪的双重作用,我们把呈现目标图像和分散注意力图像的时间间隔分别设定为200ms,400ms,600ms和800ms.
