The first group of 54 overweight children give a drill performance to their parents one afternoon recently as part of their graduation ceremony(典礼) in a special military（军事的） camp. That is now changing.”
One of the parents said,”My son is only 12 but he is 1.57meters high and weighs 61 kg. We are afraid that Obesity(极肥胖) may make him less competitive in the society when he grows up, and also we know that obesity can cause many diseases.”He added,”In the past, we paid anything to feed our son. Now we would pay anything to keep him fit.”
The summer camp charges 590 yuan per child for six days of training, but the parents didn’t complain about the price.
One trainer said,”these children are the center of their families and are spoiled by too much care. We try to be strict with them and help them gain a strong will and self-discipline. We believe the military life here will make a good start for them.”
