Throughout the nineteenth century and into the twentieth,citizens of the United States maintained a bias against big cities.Most lived on farms and in small towns and beleved cities to be centers of corruption,crime,poverty and moral degradation.Their distrust was caused,in part,by a national ideology that proclaimed farming the greatest occupation and rural living superior ot urban living.This attitude prevailed even as the number of dwellers increased and cities became essential feaure of the national landscape.Gradually,economic reality overcame ideology.Thousands abandoned the precarious life on the farm for more secure and better paying jobs in the city.But when these people migrated from the countryside,they carried their fears and suspicions with them.these new urbanites,already convinced that cities were overwhelmed with great problems,eagerly embraced the progressive reforms that promised to bring order out of the chaos of the city.

The vast Yangzte River is called a famous name-“International Golden Channel”; Beijing-Guangzhou Railway can be called “Chinese Transportation Artery”.A famous city-Wuhan is just standing at the cross being Hubei provincial capital,an important city in Central China Region,and the economic & cultural center of the Middle Yangtze River Region.Wuhan is divided into three towns by the Yangzte River and the Hanjiang River,thus it‘s also called “River City”.It has six districts,three urbans,and four counties,whose total area and population are 8,216 square kilometers and 608.39 millions,respectively.Wuhan has a long history,and people lived and constructed defense city here as early as in Neolithic Period; In the Ming and Qing dynasties,Hankou had been a Chinese famous commercial port being one of the top four towns in China at that time; finally,in modern Chinese history,Wuhan,as the originated site of the National Revolution,wrote a splendid chapter.
