太巧了.我正在准备GRE作文,刚好写了一篇关于法律与道德的文章,不过里面有一些句子还待斟酌,看你挺着急的,就先粘上来,再结合你自己的需要修改一下,应该差不多就够10分钟了.演讲还是得自己熟,不能光背过,太生硬了,加油呵~
No doubt that law has been set up to bring people justice,safety and peace,without disappointing anyone,it has made tremendous efforts and are likely to be the most resolute guard to our everyday life.However,can laws and the legal system solve every conflict that happens today?In my view,the function of law is not omnipotent,and not in seldom times has moral behavior taken the place to deal with problems and eventually achieve the goal.
Morality,less harsh than law,has a specific way to solve problems not much severe,which right make up for the inadequacy of law.Unlike law,morality is much objective in bounding people's behaviors,because morality develops the potential of mass media to put pressure on people's behavior,which ultimately depends on people’s self-control.To be the sum of the code of conduct adjustment among people（调节人与人之间行为规范的总和）,morality calls for a high standard in people’s self-control level,which is supervised by media pressure and judged on the basis of consensus that formed through years to acquire people whether it should do or not.
Laws,made by rulers,taking a bit some of morality factor into consideration,are much stricter than moral constraint,which is applicable to everybody and everywhere for its mandatory and universality.Here is an example that can give some light to my point.Morality encourages people to stop crimes,which is to say,you can stay there and fight against the criminal,or call 911 to let the police dealing with it,also you can doing nothing at all and just step away behaving not seeing it at all at your own will.Whereas by law,if actually has a provision about good Samaritan,you are obligated to save the victim despite someone are not willing to.Law is constraint,and cannot be easily altered.
Laws and morality are different from as well as linked to each other.Generally speaking,things that are legally forbidden or sanctions are also considered as prohibited and damned behavior by morality,also,things that are legally acquired and encouraged are similarly the behaviors that morality cultivate and promote.Distinctions between law and morality will become apparent when it comes to the different ranges in its own functions,as people know,law stands at a higher level to solve more serious problems for people both spiritual and social while moral values deals with the basic demand for people’s behaviors.To illustrate this point of view,there is a simple instance.Moral values can demand people of devoting themselves to others,without thinking of themselves,making completely sacrifice,whereas law could just claim that people mustn’t harm others in terms of self interest or take public resources for personal uses.
Both laws and morality are an adjustment on the code of conduct of people’s behaviors,though different in function ranges,have the effort to perfect mutual influence,which can be made use of by humans to solve modern problems,and in this way we can make the society a better vision.
