Visa L: 申请人为家庭或者其它私人访问,要求有邀请人的中国配偶的婚姻证明. 访问其他中国亲戚的,要由中国国内亲属的邀请函,同时要由公证机关对这种亲属关系进行公证. 如果是访问在中国学习或者工作的外国人,要有邀请人的签名邀请函,同时要有邀请人公司或者学校的证明信,并且有邀请人中国居民证的复印件.上述文件可能要中国外交部确认.签证申请人的旅行费用需有证明.
注:申请L签证,用以观光旅游者将被拒签.只有5人或者5人以上旅游团通过旅行社方可.

A Brief Introduction to Chinese Visa and the Procedure for Visa Application

Chinese visa is a permit issued to a foreigner by the Chinese visa authorities for entry into, exit from or transit through the Chinese territory. The Chinese visa authorities may issue a diplomatic, courtesy, service or ordinary visa to a foreigner according to his identity, purpose of visit to China and passport type. Hereunder is an introduction to the ordinary visa and its application procedure.
The ordinary visas consist of eight sub-categories, which are marked with letters (D, Z, X, F, L, G, C, J-1 and J-2 respectively).All foreigners who want to apply for above visas must follow the procedures listed below to apply for a visa and must present required documents:
1.Basic documentation and application Forms
A. A passport valid for more than six months before expiration and at least one blank page in it.
Note: For single or double entry visa application, passport must have at least six months validity. For multiple entry visa, passport must have at least nine months validity.
B: Turkish Residence Permit for Foreigners valid for more than six months before the date that the holder is back to Turkey or departs for other destinations ( if the applicant is a citizen of the third country).
C. One complete application form (The People's Republic of China Visa Application Form) with one recent passport-size photograph (black and white or color) glued thereto.
Note: If the application form is not completely filled out, or the contents are not true, or it is not legible, procedure may be delayed or application may be denied.
D: Copy of information pages of the passport and Residence Permit (if).
2.Various types of visas and their related documentation requirements
Visa D: issued to an alien who is to reside permanently in China. A permanent residence confirmation form shall be required for the application of Visa D. The applicant shall apply to obtain this form himself or through his designated relatives in China from the exit-and-entry department of the public security bureau in the city or county where he applies to reside.
Note: Entry time for Visa D is single. The holder of this visa is required to register and go through the procedures for obtaining the residence permit to local Government within thirty days of entry.
Visa Z: Issued to an alien who comes to China for a post or employment in China, and to his or her dependents. To apply for a Visa Z, an Employment License of the People's Republic of China for Foreigners (which could be obtained by the employer in China from the provincial or municipal labor authorities), a visa notification letter/telegram issued by an authorized organization or company, and Physical Examination Record are required.
Note: Entry time for Visa Z is single. The holder of this visa is required to register and go through the procedures for obtaining the residence permit to local Government within thirty days of entry.
Visa X: Issued to an alien who comes to China for study, advanced studies or intern-practice for a period of six months or more. To apply for a Visa X, certificates from the accepting unit and the competent authority concerned are required, i.e., Application Form for Overseas Students to China (JW201 Form or JW202 Form), Admission Notice and Physical Examination Record for Foreigners.
Note: Entry time for Visa X is single. The holder of this visa is required to register and go through the procedures for obtaining the residence permit to local Government within thirty days of entry.
Visa F: Issued to an alien who is invited to China for a visit, an investigation, a study or lecture, business tour, for scientific-technological and cultural exchanges, for short-term refresher course or for job-training for a period of not more than six months. To apply for a Visa F, the invitation letter from the inviting unit or the visa notification letter from the Authorized Unit are required, together with an recommendation letter from the applicant's own company or institution signed by its general manager or owner, the true copies of the registration and taxation certificates of the company (if), and the certificate from the local Commercial Chamber.
Note: the Authorized Unit means State Commissions, Ministries, Provincial or Municipal Governments or government-authorized companies, corporations or institutions.
Visa L: Issued to an alien who comes to China for family visiting or other private purposes. To visit applicant's Chinese spouse, marriage registration document is required. To visit applicant's other Chinese relatives, an invitation letter from applicant's relatives in China and the notarization of kinship relation are required. To visit applicant's foreign relatives or colleagues who work or study in China, an invitation letter signed by host, an employment/study certificate letter from the host's company or institution in China, and true copy of the host's Chinese Residence Permit are required. Some above documents may be required to be notarized and authenticated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of P.R. China.
The applicant's financial capability of covering the traveling expenses in China shall be evidenced, and the air, train or ship tickets to the heading country/region after leaving China may also be required when necessary.
Note: Individual application for Visa L with sightseeing purpose will not be accepted, only a tourist group consisting of 5 or more persons could apply group visa via the authorized travel agency.
Visa G: Issued to an alien who transits through China. The applicants are required to show valid visas or an invitation, and on-going tickets to the heading countries/regions.
Note: No multiple entry for Visa G, the maximum entry times is double.
Visa C: Issued to train attendants, air crewmembers and seamen operating international services, and to their dependents. To apply for a visa C, relevant documents are required in accordance with bilateral agreements between the two governments or regulations of the Chinese side.
Visa J-1: Issued to foreign resident correspondents in China.
Visa J-2: Issued to foreign correspondents who make short trip to China on reporting tasks. The applicants for J-1 and J-2 visas are required to provide a certificate issued by the competent Chinese authorities.
In addition to providing the above-mentioned documents, an applicant is also required to answer relevant questions and go through the following formalities.
3.Visa Application for Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) of P.R. China
Turkish citizens who possess valid Turkish passport of any kind going to HKSAR for business or tourism may stay in HKSAR for three months without visa.
Note: If any Turkish citizen plans to continue his journey from HKSAR to other districts of China, he needs a Chinese Visa.
4.Methods and Places of Visa Application
Applicants can appear personally or by agent to apply for a visa. When by agent, it is required that the application form is signed by the applicant his/herself, and applicant may be requested to come to the Embassy personally if required. Mail applications are not acceptable and will be refused.
This embassy does not accept applications by applicants whose residences or working places are in the following Turkish provinces as Istanbul, Tekirdag, Kocaeli, Bursa, Baliksir, Cannakkale, Izmir, Manisa, Edirne, Kirklaeli. They can apply for visas at the Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul.
The Visa's duration stay, entry times and validity are decided by the Consular Officers.
The Consular Officers have the authority to refuse any visa applications inconsistent with Chinese laws and regulations, or revoke issued visas.

6.Processing Time
Normal processing time for a visa is a minimum of four business days after the date of application. Applicants may request expedited service if they can provide explanation. Based on the circumstances of the applicant's request, expedited processing may be arranged. There are two categories: A, Extra-express service---Submitted before 12:00, pick up passport the same day after 16:30 with 30US$ expedited fee; B, Express service----pick up the second and third business day after 16:30 with 20US$.
