◆二楼解释"building the new office tower"为去掉"when they were"的时间状语，我觉得不妥。我只见到过把"when they were building the new office tower"简化成"while building the new office tower"的，如果连接词删去了，那么如何区分是时间状语还是伴随状语呢？

因为这两个简单句之间只有逗号,却没有任何连词连接,这是不符合语法要求的.

3.第一句主干是They were almost done“他们几乎完成了（修建任务）”.
