To bioassay soil was mixed with sewage sludges or compost at a ratio of 15.7:1 and 3.1:1 (w/w) which represented the share of sludges/compost at a level of 6% and 24% respectively.
The pH was measured potentiometrically in 1M KCl after 24 h in the liquid/soil ratio of 10, the total of the exchangeable bases (TEB) and cation exchange capacity (CEC) were determined in the 0.1N HCl extract.
The total contents of Cd, Cr, Cu, Pb, Ni, Zn were carried out using emission spectrometry of the Leeman Labs (PS 950) apparatus with inductively coupled plasma (ICP) induction in argon.
For PAHs separation an analytical Spherisorb S5 PAH (250_4.6mm ID, 5 mg by Schambeck SFD GmbH, Germany) column was used.
The relationships between the properties of sewage sludge/compost (phycico-chemical, heavy metals and PAHs content) and phytotoxicity parameters were determined by correlation analysis with Statistica 5.0. Significance was set at *P≤0.05.
No significant differences in the amount of chlorophyll synthesized in relation to the applied sewage sludge dose were noted.
In the remaining sludges no significant influence of this process on the toxicity of composts obtained was noted.
In the case of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons, significant negative relationships were noted only between inhibition of root length and fluoranthene (-0.760, P≤0.05), benzo[a]anthracene (-0.731, P≤0.05) and chrysene
(-0.764, P≤0.05) at a biosolid dose of 6% and anthracene (-0.822, P≤0.05), chrysene (-0.731, P≤0.05) and benzo[b]fluoranthene (-0.764, P≤0.05) at a biosolid dose of 24%.
A lowering of toxicity after the composting process may be related to the degradation of organic pollutants (Semple et al., 2001) as well as other processes which can limit their bioavailability, such as sequestration (Alexander, 2000) or/and bound residue.

嗯嗯, 就是等匿名MM这样的问题补充,不过各楼的都跟我一样嘛,我有点冤呀.太技术性的我要确定一下,很久没译过这样的文献,给不给分不管了.
