Giving young children Red Envelopes is a tradition in Chinese culture.The Red Envelopes is always RED,and it contains money of various amount.They are given to the young members of a family by the elderlies,with good wishes written on the envelopes.In recently years,however,it is noticed that the amount of money inside the envelopes is increasing in disproportion to normal adults' earnings and retirement payments.It does not only put unnecessary pressure on family budgets,but also leave too many choices for the children as how to spend the money.It's good to keep a Chinese tradition alive,as long as it does not become some money-hungry activity.
