前面的好理解,就是,然后我看着她的脸,她的脸上充满了恐惧.后面knowing what the outcome of the event would have meant only a week before in her farher's presence.可以理解为时间状语也可以理解为原因状语,“当她知道一个星期前,在她父亲面前,那件事的结果将意味着什么”或者“因为她知道了一个星期前,在她父亲面前,那件事的结果将意味着什么”
“ what the outcome of the event would have meant ”是做know的宾语,同时句中的what是做mean的宾语,“mean what”,“意味着什么”
