“动词短语” 相当于一个行为动词,不可以做句子主语,只能做句子谓语,但是,动名词短语可以做主语,也就是动名词做主语,例如
（1）Finging a sastisfactory job nowadays is not easy 中的 Finding a satisfactory job 属于动名词短语,作主语,但是find a satisfactory job 不可以做主语
（2）I am looking for my pen under the bed 中的,look for 是个短语动词,在句子中就是动词短语look for my pen 只能做句子谓语,不能做主语
（3） To learn English well is of great importance to us all 中动词不定式短语可以做主语,但是 learn English well 却不能做主语
总之：能做主语的有下面成分
（1）名词可以做主语 :The boy is a student
（2）代词可以做主语:He is a doctory
（3）数次可以做主语:The first is the best
（4）The +形容词可以做主语:The rich should help the poor
