Tianjin Jiulongshan National Forest Park, which is located in the area of Chuanfangyu, 20 km from Jixian county to the east, is the largest forest park inside Tianjin city. The total area of the park is 2126 hectare, with three main sightseeing areas of Jiulongshan Mountain, Limutai platform and Huanghuashan Mountain. The park is next to the ancient Great Wall to the west, the Royal Temple of Qing Dynasty to the east, the Cuiping Lake to the south and Limutai Mountain, Baxian Mountain to the north. You can also see Guayuefeng Peak to the west a little further. There are plenty of peaks in the park. The peaks come to nine ridges on the mountain, just like nine dragons come together. That’s why this place is called Jiulongshan, which means nine dragon mountain in Chinese.
There are boundless of forest in the park, with a forest covering rate of 95%. Deep forest, ancient caves, grotesque peaks and pretty lakes composite the natural scenery. All kinds of trees and flowers make the park colorful. You can enjoy flower in spring, see falls in summer, taste fruits in autumn and play with snow in winter.
