在商业信息交互多元化的今天,一个本着以人为本,以科技为主的中大型企业无论是在在业务上还是信息上,都需要一个能够满足于现代企业经营模式的平台.为了能够提高企业营运效率,变得更加顺畅快捷,一种以网络为基础,利用多媒体技术支持的新型会议模式便由此诞生了,这就是我们今天所说的——视频会议系统.随着IP技术的飞速发展,各种基于IP技术的多媒体技术也正在得到越来越多的应用,而视频会议就属于其中重要的一个组成部分.作为多媒体会话型通信业务的一种典型,视频会议业务已在社会性的信息交流中发挥了巨大的沟通作用.视频会议通过通信网络把两个或多个地点的多媒体会议终端连接起来,在其间传送各种图像、话音和数据信号,使出席会议者有亲临现场的感觉.除了用于多点多媒体会议之外,视频会议系统还应用于远程教育、远程医疗等需要传送实时音频、视频和数据的业务.
