eg:He says,"I like sports."=He says that he likes sports.
直接引语是一般疑问句,变间接引语时用if/whether作为连接词
eg; He asks;"Do you like music?"= He asks if/whether I like music.
直接引语是一般疑问句,变间接引语时用本身的有的疑问词作为连接词
eg:He asked ," When will you go to Shanghai?"=He asked me when I would go to Shanghai.(时态要保持一致）,因此这儿用了would.

再答： 直接引语是特殊疑问句，变间接引语时用本身的有的疑问词作为连接词 上面的答案：1.if/whether was 2.if/whether could 因为主句用了过去时,所以从句也要用过去时（was 和 could）。
eg:He says,"I like sports."=He says that he likes sports.
