Welfare of people
COMPANY shall comply with all measures required to provide for the welfare of its people,both of itself and,where specified,of others.COMPANY people and those of its COMPANY’S shall be accommodated in a purpose built accommodation.It shall be constructed in such a manner so as to:
\x09•\x09provide protection against severe rain and high wind,
\x09•\x09be adequately screened against insects and vermin,
\x09•\x09be adequately sealed against dust dirt and sand,
\x09•\x09provided with a finish which facilitates easy cleaning.
The buildings,facilities,fittings,structural fabric and external areas,shall be subject to an adequate cleaning schedule,which shall be agreed between the COMPANY and approved by COMPANY.
In order to facilitate emergency response in accommodation,the following shall be in place:
\x09•\x09emergency instructions shall be prominently displayed internally and externally,
\x09•\x09emergency alarms shall be installed and shall be audible throughout the accommodation.
\x09•\x09evacuation area(s) shall be provided and marked.
\x09•\x09an adequate number of residents shall be trained as fire wardens.
\x09•\x09each cabin / office shall be fitted with a battery operated smoke detector External spacing between port bins shall be 2 meters in order to allow emergency vehicle access and provide an adequate fire break between buildings
Each accommodation unit shall be provided with adequate ventilation or air conditioners and shall be fitted internally with a trip setting of 100 milliamps,and provided externally with an electrical isolation switch.
Ablution units,and other units where high humidity can be anticipated,shall be provided with moisture proof electrical fittings,a trip setting of 30 milliamps and external electrical isolation switches.
All toilets and washrooms shall be provided with proper/sufficient lighting and windows opening to the outside air.
All toilets and washrooms shall be provided with ventilation systems which change the air at least six times per hour.All waste water,including floor washing water,shall be connected to a disposal drain.
The floors,walls,ceilings of sanitary conveniences and other camp structures,shall be of a finish which facilitates effective cleaning,internal fittings,such as lavatories,sinks,urinals,showers,shelving.Drawers and work surfaces shall be made from materials which facilitate easy cleaning.Fly screens shall be fitted to all open windows.
