美国课堂很随意，老师可以身穿牛仔，很随便地坐在课堂的某一个角落，而学生分成很多组自己组织讨论。没有老师站在黑板前一笔一画给学生讲每一个字，告诉学生什么该干什么不该干。这种松散的课堂教学组织使得学生非常随意。但如果每节课都这么上，知识的传授效率会比较低，基础知识和基本技能的掌握就会比中国学生差，而想象力、思考能力的培养则比较好。

There is a big difference between China's education and America's. China's classrooms value the teaching and training of basic knowledge and skills. Tehy value logical thinking and things that alrady have a final conclusion drawn. Whereas America's classrooms value the training of critical thinking ability and intuitive thinking. The activities of each 45-minute-long class is well scheduled, both substantial and systematical. The advantages of Chinese teaching is that it is very systematical and students can have sure grasp of the knowledge. However, they are not as good as the American students in terms of their imagination, independence and critical thinkig ability. Because Chinese students read intensively, whereas American students read extensively.
America's classrooms are quite casual. Teachers can be in jeans and sit casually in one corner of the classroom while students organise themselves into small groups to run discussion. There isn't teacher to stand in front of the white board to teach the student every word, or to tell the students to do what and not to do what. This relaxing class teaching method makes students very relaxed. But if each class runs like this, the teaching efficiency would be very low. Hence the grasp of basic knowledge and skills would be worse than chinese students. But the training of their imagination and the ability to think are better.
