Some of the disastrous situations can be avoided through advance planning and farsightedness but there is not much one can do to prevent a natural calamity such as Earthquake. Crisis management techniques can be used only to ameliorate some of the destructive effects. Great attention has to be focussed in such cases to save as many lives as possible. New crisis situations appear on the surface from time to time. For instance in recent years a global crisis in the form of AIDS has appeared which has posed threat to the very survival of the human race. In spite of very significant Research and Development work on prevention of AIDS and cure of AIDS victims nobody has been able to find a total remedy. As a result once affected by AIDS the victim has to just patiently wait for sure death. Management of AIDS disease which has already assumed a devastating proportion will pose the greatest challenge to the humanity in the next few decades.
