Love is what I saw in the heroic deeds of thousands of soldiers who resolved to pitch in and even made their supreme sacrifice so that other people might live.When they were sent into harm’s way yet without a moment’s hesitation,when they were risking their lives to save people from the brink of death,they have made a solomn choice between love and cowardice.
Love is what led a women teacher to struggle to her feet and support the collapsed concrete wall ,providing a life shelter for the five kids under her.
Love is what led thousands of ordinary people from other parts of the country to travel across the land to disaster area and brave the dangers to save their fellow men and women.
Love is what unites us ,when there was despair in the ruin and sadness across our land,we came together around a common purpose as one nation,as one people and sending a powerful message to the world that the earthquake might shake the foundation of our buildings,but it couldn’t shake the foundation of our country-------the love for each other.
Love is a choice.From littleness to greatness,there’s but one choice.the heros had chosen love,lightening that torch.
Now it is for us,the living ,rather,to choose a life filled with love ,to raise the torch passed down from heros,to carry forward that precious gift:love.
