威海国际海水浴场与刘公岛、成山头并称为威海三大景区,也是国内最好的海水浴场之一,是旅游度假、避暑疗养的胜地.海水浴场始建于1992年4月,年接待游客上百万人次.石雕大门是浴场的标志性建筑,它西边是一只海豚,上面“国际海水浴场”六个大字是威海著名书法家苏生子先生亲笔所书.东边是一只河马,它的正面雕刻着一条美人鱼,栩栩如生,背面是国际海水浴场简介,也是苏生子先生撰写并雕刻的.
