这句话杨鹏的解释第一句就是：前面的分句省略了Although.but之后的分句的结构较为复杂……
P218 These techniques have strongly suggested that although the true bacteria indeed from a large coherent group,certain other bacteria,the archaebacteria,which are also prokaryotes and which resemble true bacteria,represent a distinct evolutionary branch that far antedates the common ancestor of all true bacteria.
下面杨鹏的解释：……在表示转折的分句（此句的句首省略了but）中,主语certain other bacteria 后面跟着修饰它的同位语the archaebacteria ,之后……
对于这两句话,我存在同一个问题,即,我认为这里面并没有省略although或者but,这两个表示转折的词不能同时出现在一句话里,否则才是错误的.我一直是这样认为的,但也没专门去求证,所以看到杨鹏的解释,很惊讶.是我错了还是他错了?
他这么解释也是对的,这里真的有省略吗?省略了什么?GRE长句当然不能深究语法,但这个,我一直以为是常识来着,所以才怀疑是不是自己一直都记错了.

可能你没有仔细严读,他已经解释了,为了方便解释,才说省略了ALTHOUGH,或者BUT,只是为了告诉你,这里存在转折,转折是GRE阅读里重要考点,信息点很多都会出现……你也没有记错.呵呵.
