Two of my colleagues and me,finally arrived at the place at about four o’clock in the morning.The sky was still as dark as when we received the call from a neighbor of this house and the surrounding was still as quiet as midnight.I knocked at the street door and waited for someone to answer.There came a young man with a smile on his face,we introduced ourselves as officers of the police in this area.I spoke to the young man first,and explained the situation that “A shriek had been heard by a neighbor during the night; suspicion of foul play had been aroused,information had been logged in by the police office” (39).We told him that we have to search the house.This young man,who seemed to be very calm and confident,welcomed us in the room with a gentle smile.He claimed that the shriek “was from (his) own in a dream” (39).When we mentioned the old man,who should have been living with him,the man said that he was absent in the country.This young man was very friendly; he took us all over the house and bade us to search well.Out of expect,he brought chairs into the room.We asked him some question,the young man was at ease,and he answered all the questions cheerily and confidently.All of us were satisfied with his answers,so that we chat about some familiar things.After a period of time,the face of the young man got pale,he started to hit his head frequently,like there was something getting wrong in his head.As the time goes on,his action became increasingly weird,but talked more freely.There must be something wrong with him.After a few minutes,his face became very pale,his speech became very fast,his voice became very loud,and he looked like a broken man with violent gesture.We know what happened,but we still keep calm and act like usual.The young man finally became very mad,very very mad.He not only foamed,raved and swore at us,and swung the chair all round himself.My colleagues and I sat still on our chair,pretending that nothing happened.We kept on chatting happily and smiled.The young man got very crazy and mad,he shouted,“Villains” and commit the crime.He admitted that he killed the man and had hidden his heart under the planks under his seat.
