为什么要用bought而不是buying?把I had looked forward to buying当做the book的定语不可以么?

这里应该这样理with the book bought.,属于“with+名词/代词+过去分词”结构,做原因状语.而 I had looked forward to 是单独的,是定语从句,修饰前面的book的.逻辑上是I had looked forward to the book,而不是looked forward to buying the book.
