How do you think the community of America?
U.S. Illinois State Dupei County College under Dr. Michael Murphy
Community College began in the United States 100 years ago. At that time, several leaders of the most reputation of the University, in the University of Chicago under the influence of the Rector, Dr. Williamraindy Harper, began to explore the convergence of middle - and higher education. They believe that the first two years of higher education after their two years of education than in the last two years of senior secondary education and closer. America's educational system, including four years of secondary education and four years of college education. Such institutions as the University of Chicago School aims to prepare them to do many students into graduate schools. Harper principals believe that university education should focus on undergraduate university after two years of focus on education for students entering full-time college or Graduate School ready. Thus, the original two-year, known as primary university or university, now called the Community College on such a school. The system is set up such schools in parallel with the ordinary universities. Junior University structure, curriculum and undergraduate university 1, 2002 based system is no distinction between the disciplines. The second half of the 20th century, particularly since 1965, the American Community College prospered. For some time, almost a week throughout the United States on the establishment of a new community college. From the American educational system, the U.S. Constitution has never been directly involved in education. Therefore, the responsibility of providing educational opportunities for its citizens in the 50 states now have state government responsibility. The total budget, only 1.7% is spent on education. This budget funds the equivalent of 6% of the actual expenditure of U.S. education. Most of the funding for education from state and local governments. Therefore, we can say that in America we do not have a unified educational system, we have 50 educational system. Each state's educational system is independent, but the education system as compared with other states, as well as similarities. Although the state compared with the state, their education system is very similar, but they will never be the same. This refers not only to primary, secondary, but also higher education, community colleges are not an exception. After understanding the background, let me go back to the 1960s the development of community colleges. After the Second World War, the United States economy and rapid population growth. By the 1960s, the well-known post-war calling of birds abuse flows to the children are 17 or 18. At the same time, the United States has rapidly industrialized, the demand for higher education has also increased significantly. This change has no traditional institutions of higher learning, since most of the traditional institutions of higher learning are not concentrated in the areas of population. To meet the needs of these citizens, many universities began to establish branches. At the same time, many states have also begun for the establishment of community colleges to address this need. The state is the common goal for each of its citizens in very short-range traffic within the region (China within commuting) provides higher education, at least for the first two years of education. I have to state, in accordance with Illinois state, is a good example. A total of 49 in Illinois under the state Community College. Chonju each commuting residents living in almost all school districts. Then, in addition to convenient, what factors make community colleges so popular, and contributing to its rapid development? The following main factors :
