用the shape of ellipse表示the elliptic shape很奇怪,两者意思有差别
再问：所以一般都是用the elliptic shape这种方式来表达是么？那正方形的、三角形的等等，也是用the adj shape？两者有什么差别？谢谢~~
再答：取决于句子的意思。原句想要表达的是“天体的轨道通常是椭圆形的”，而the shape of ellipse意为椭圆的形状，椭圆本身是一个偏抽象的概念，本来就可以描述形状，不需要强调椭圆的“形状”，句子完全可以改成：the orbit of celestial body is usually elliptic。随便举个例子说明吧（可能有点不太恰当，见谅），假如说句子改成the shape of egg就没什么问题，因为egg除了形状外还具备有其它特性，如果不强调shape的话会有意义不明，如果没有shape，句子意思就成了轨道像个蛋，我完全可以理解成轨道的味道像鸡蛋。
