信息化是当今世界经济和社会发展的大趋势,飞速发展的信息化已经渗透到社会的每一个角落,信息技术也正在迅速渗透到农业的各个领域,并已经成为现代农业的主导技术之一。农业信息化已成为当前解决我国农业、农村和农民问题的重要措施,是开发农村市场,推动我国经济进一步发展的重要手段。如何加快农业信息化建设,进而通过农业信息化带动农业现代化,无疑已成为当前经济建设和社会发展中的一个战略性问题。本文从农业信息化内涵入手, 论述了了我国农业信息化发展的现状、发展趋势；农业信息化建设中存在的主要问题；农业信息化服务三农的必要性；发达国家农业信息化的成功经验及对我们的启示；农业信息化服务三农的对策分析。
“三农”信息化是一项系统工程，必须考虑多方的因素，集合调动方方面面的力量。同时由于农业是个弱质产业，信息化建设基础较为薄弱，因此国家必须给予适当的扶持，并提出具体的措施。1、形成政府主导的农业信息投入机制，完善农业信息化的基础设施。2、加强法规和制度建设，完善农业信息化的支持体系。3、逐步完善农业信息服务体系，积极为农民提供各类信息服务。4、加强农业信息技术人才培训，逐步提高农民的信息技术素质。5、把农业信息当作产业来发展6、推行“合同农业”、“订单农业”的组织形式。
