价格弹性是2,就是价格变化1%,数量就变化2%.
现在数量由1000增加到1200,增加了20%,则价格应减少10%,新的价格为0.5×（1-10%)=0.45.
再问： 为什么数量增加20，价格就要减少10%？
再答： the price elasticity of demand for pencils by the initial value method is 2 意思就是需求价格弹性是2，经济含义是就是价格变化1%，数量就变化2%，是1：2的关系。
再问： 我的意思是，为什么价格是减少而不是增加，如果同一个问题题干改为价格降低，求产量，那么又要如何计算？
再答： 需求曲线如果不特殊说明的话都按向右下倾斜计算，就是说价格和数量的方向相反，价格升高数量就降低；价格降低数量就升高，这与日常经验也是一致的。 如果价格降低，数量就会增加，增加多少还是按照1：2计算。
