英语中,分数可以做主语吗
其实不是分数作主语,是分数修饰的名词作主语.
其判断原则和分数后面加了“of + 名词”做句子主语判断一样：
1.如果of后面是可数名词单数形式,则谓语动词也用单数形式（三单）；
Two thirds of the desk is painted red.
桌子的三分二涂成了红色.
2.如果of后面是可数名词复数形式,则谓语动词也用复数形式；
Two thirds of the students in my class are boys.
我们班三分之二的学生都是男的.
3.如果of后面是不可数名词,则谓语动词也用单数形式（三单）；
One fifth of the water comes from the underground.
五分之一的水是来自地下的.
4.但是当分数词修饰population时,则谓语动词一律用复数形式.
如：Seven tenths of the population in China are farmers.
中国十分之七的人口是农民.
