More than six hundred years ago,almost half of France belonged to the king of England.The English king and the French king became enemies,and in 1337 a terrible war began between England and France.This war continued for almost a hundred years.In 1415 the English king,Henry V,sailed across to France with his army.He met the French near Agincourt,and beat them in a terrible battle.
The French king,Charles VI said to Henry.You've beaten us.Marry my daughter Catherine and when I die,you'll be king of France instead of son.br>Henry accepted this,and there were no more battles.Two years later,before he became king of France,Henry died.He left behind a little baby son.The French king died two months later,and he left behind a son too.This son's name was Charles,and he was only nineteen years old.
Now the French people began fighting among themselves.Some of them wanted Charles to be king of France.Others,like the Burgundians,hated Charles?family,and so they wanted Henry's son to be king.The English and the Burgundians fought together against the French again and again.They won battle after battle.
